US immigration in a nutshell

The United States of America is rightly touted as

Till now she has an open door immigration policy

This migration trend started with the Western European migrants

coming ashore & thronging at the Ellis Island processing centre

 Then came the Eastern Asian migrants...

The Turks

even the Punjabis

 However, once in America, they all become molded in her unique melting pot

At times, America become paranoid about her immigrant population...

Other times, the worry is about illegal entrants. So she sends stern & panic messages...

The agitated illegal entrants then demand for a piece of the pie...

claiming that

or reminding the lawmakers [most of whom or their ancestors were once immigrants anyway!] to learn the true history...

even try to justify their stance drawing biblical inspiration...

The lawmakers recall their sorry plight had the native Americans not allowed them to enter this "land of free" in the first place!

So, they back down & every now and then, call for immigration reform...

And yes, the above is almost equally applicable to America's cousin [i.e. Canada] who take immigrants and give some of her intake to America. ha, ha, ha...

The changed population demography of America now looks like this:

Altering her flag at every ripple...

But one question lingers on one's inquisitive mind: Why do they use the term 'alien' for immigrants? It definitely adds to the confusion to the alien lurkers riding on their UFOs ?!
