Has World War III Already Started? German Tanks Once Again Advancing towards Russia’s Border

... And recently… for the first time since Operation Barbarossa, German tanks are once again advancing on Russia’s border.

You probably haven’t heard this extraordinary piece of news. That’s because the mass media has basically ignored and obscured it. They’ve been busy covering far more important things… like transgender issues and Kim Kardashian’s latest stunt.

That’s why I want to tell you about Operation Anaconda 2016.

It’s the largest war game in Eastern Europe since the end of the Cold War. It’s essentially a rehearsal to secure a quick NATO victory in the event of war with Russia.

It was launched from Warsaw, Poland, recently and involves 31,000 NATO troops.

Operation Anaconda 2016 is one of the most important stories you’re not hearing about. It shows how perilously close the world is to another global war.

I found out about Operation Anaconda 2016 while in Warsaw with Doug Casey earlier this year.

Operation Anaconda 2016 is controversial even within NATO. German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier recently said:

“Whoever believes that a symbolic tank parade on the alliance’s eastern border will bring security is mistaken. We are well advised to not create pretexts to renew an old confrontation.”

Although Steinmeier said Operation Anaconda 2016 is symbolic, he failed to mention exactly what it symbolizes.

First, an Anaconda is a giant snake. It kills its prey by squeezing it. From the Russian perspective, they’re the ones who feel squeezed. This is precisely what the U.S. has been doing by fomenting so-called colored revolutions in Ukraine and Georgia (both on Russia’s periphery) and trying to absorb them into NATO.

Second, this unprecedented “tank parade” on Russia’s borders symbolizes nothing less than World War III.

According to Doug Casey:

It’s provocative, and actually quite insane. The Western media paints the Russians as the aggressors, which—let me shock you by saying this—is the opposite of the truth.
Russia is an economic minnow, producing nothing but oil and gas, and mostly unprofitably, at current prices. Its population is in permanent decline, and it’s actually a disintegrating empire with a dozen secession movements. Its only serious industrial sector is manufacturing weapons, but even the most advanced Sukhois and MiGs (like the F-22 and F-35) are artifacts of a bygone era.
The Russians aren’t in a position to threaten anyone—entirely apart from the fact that conquering neighboring countries no longer makes sense. In today’s world, you’re no longer acquiring an asset to be looted, but taking on a liability.

As for NATO, it’s outlived its usefulness by over 25 years. The huge military bureaucracy is just a hammer in search of a nail. It should be abolished before it gets everyone in a lot of trouble.)

Russian President Vladimir Putin has reacted to Operation Anaconda 2016 with alarm. At a recent press conference, he warned Western mainstream media journalists that the world is sleepwalking into World War 3, saying:

We know year by year what’s going to happen, and they know that we know. It’s only you that they tell tall tales to, and you buy it, and spread it to the citizens of your countries. Your people in turn do not feel a sense of the impending danger—this is what worries me.

How do you not understand that the world is being pulled in an irreversible direction? While they pretend that nothing is going on. I don’t know how to get through to you anymore.

U.S. politicians like to use Putin as a piñata to show how tough they are. Hillary Clinton has declared Putin to be the new Hitler. This is the kind of thinking that fueled Operation Anaconda 2016.

Now, we’re not referees charged with deciding which political players are good guys and which are bad guys.

However, the portrait of Putin as a Hitler or a crazy man leading his country toward disaster—the picture you get from the mainstream media and from many politicians—is suitable only for propaganda posters.

I don’t give two you-know-whats about what happens in Eastern Europe, except to the extent it might spark World War 3 and cause us to get vaporized in a nuclear exchange.

Albert Einstein once said,

“I know not with what weapons World War 3 will be fought, but World War 4 will be fought with sticks and stones.”

Signs are ominous! On Thursday, October 13, US Tomahawk cruise missiles destroyed pro-Iranian/anti-Saudi Houthi rebels' radar sites in Yemen, “retaliating after failed missile attacks this week on a U.S. Navy destroyer”, US officials claimed. Washington has again complained about Houthi missile attacks on a US naval ship on Saturday, October 15. Meanwhile, Iran has deployed two warships off Yemen threatening to further escalate tensions after the US missile attacks. It's most likely – if not inevitable – that the US military machine may get directly involved in Yemen. 

One believes the allegation against the Houthi rebels is a part of the US design to stage another Gulf of Tonkin type false flag operation to justify another US-sponsored long-drawn out war in the region a`la Vietnam and Iraq. We know the North Vietnamese “attack” on a US naval ship on August 4, 1964 in the Gulf of Tonkin – that never happened – was an American fabrication to justify a full-fledged invasion of North Vietnam, in the name of protecting Southeast Asia from “communist aggression”. It was very similar to Saddam Hussein's non-existing Weapons of Mass Destruction that prompted the illegal US invasion of Iraq in 2003.

While Americans are engrossed in Donald Trump's vulgar and offensive comments on women, and allegations about his sexual misconduct with multiple women in the past, seemingly the US Administration is busy teaching the pro-Iranian Houthi rebels a lesson, with a view to intimidating and eventually getting directly involved with Iran! It's least likely that Houthi rebels, who have been simultaneously fighting the pro-Saudi Yemeni regime and Saudi Arabia itself, would open another front against America, which has the most powerful and reckless military in the world. 

Now, what is the Houthi insurgency or rebellion all about? This sectarian and class rebellion against the autocratic Yemeni government began in 2004. By 2015, the Zaidi Shiite Houthis captured around half of the country, including the capital, Sana'a. Shiite Houthis in southern Saudi Arabia also joined the rebellion. What was originally a class movement of Houthis (slightly less than half of the Yemeni population) turned into a civil war, and the Saudi and Iranian interventions in Yemen turned the rebellion into a proxy war between Sunni Saudi Arabia and Shiite Iran. The US is solidly behind the Saudi monarchy. Some Sunni Muslims have also joined the Houthis in their struggle to overthrow the autocratic President Mansour al-Hadi. By now around 7,000 people have been killed and around 40,000 injured. 

Seemingly, it's almost inevitable that the US is going to turn its proxy war against the Houthis through Saudi Arabia into a direct US-Houthi confrontation, as a prelude to direct intervention in Syria and Iran. Since Iran is a common enemy of some of Washington's staunchest allies in the region, especially Israel and Saudi Arabia, it can't stomach a Saudi reversal at the hands of Houthi fighters, or any pro-Iranian forces, at all. The US' direct involvement in Yemen and Syria is likely to happen while Obama is the lame duck President after November 8, or soon after Hillary Clinton enters the White House in January. All polls indicate she's going to trounce Donald Trump. Then again, as President Eisenhower implied in a speech, there are lobbies more powerful than the President to drag the country into unnecessary wars.

In his televised farewell speech from the White House on January 17, 1961, Eisenhower singled out the Military-Industrial Lobby – an informal alliance between US military and the defence industry, seen together as a vested interest which influences public policy – as the mastermind behind all post-WWII conflicts in the world. Interestingly, the unedited version of his speech also included “Congressional Lobby” as the third most important contributory factor behind US-sponsored wars. His warning against the Military-Industrial Lobby was particularly significant.  

Arundhati Roy has also raised two very interesting questions in this regard: “Do we need weapons to fight wars? Or do we need wars to create markets for weapons?” In 2007, General (ret.) Wesley Clark spelled this out in the most unambiguous terms that the US would get directly involved in several countries in the Middle East at the dictates of the powerful Military-Industrial Lobby. He exposed Pentagon's hidden agenda of allegedly 'invading' “seven countries in five years” – all Muslim-majority in Africa and Middle East, including Iran – just for the sake of it (for the rich dividends or “profits” of war). So, there's no room for any imagination about what's on the cards.

So, one may surmise with a little bit of scepticism and tonnes of worry and anxiety about the suffering of innocent civilians in Yemen and Syria, both at the hands of Saudi troops, and members of the US armed forces. It's not that relevant here if Iran would disintegrate like post-Saddam Iraq, or would become a resolute adversary, or even become a winner against America like Vietnam. It would be too trite an assumption that Russia would remain a casual observer of the joint US-Saudi (and possibly Israeli) involvement in Iran. As Eric Zuesse, investigative historian and author of books on the Holocaust and the Iraq War believes, if elected, Hillary Clinton would “do this again”, get directly involved in Syria as she did in Libya. He is also positive about Russia taking an active role on behalf of the victims of any such eventuality in the near future.

Last but not least, let's hope the new leadership in the US would take lessons from the past: America hasn't won a single war since Korea, but its illegitimate armed interventions in scores of countries in the East and West during the last seven decades were directly responsible for millions of deaths of unarmed civilians in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Let's hope peaceniks like Bernie Sanders would prevent the hawks in the next Administration from getting embroiled in direct hostility with any country, including Iran, Syria, and Yemen. What former Defense Secretary Robert Gates told fellow Americans at the Eisenhower Library last year is very pertinent to this discussion:

Does the number of warships we have, and are building, really put America at risk, when the US battle fleet is larger than the next 13 navies combined — 11 of which are our partners and allies? Is it a dire threat that by 2020, the United States will have only 20 times more advanced stealth fighters than China? These are the kinds of questions Eisenhower asked as commander-in-chief. They are the kinds of questions I believe he would ask today.”

We received confirmation from Edward Snowden that the 5 (predominantly) English-speaking countries (aka 5 Eyes) namely USA, UK, Canada, Australia & New Zealand, in alliance with their surrogates such as Germany, France, Singapore, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, etc) are involved in massive illegal surveillance activities, and regularly carry out various forms of cyber espionage and hackings. Yet they constantly lay blame on others for the crimes they perpetrate.

US presidential campaign has become ‘global shame’ – Russian FM spokeswoman

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said she believes the US presidential campaign is not worthy of the nation’s people, calling it a “catastrophe” and “simply some sort of a global shame” during a meeting with students on Tuesday.

Commenting on the heated 2016 presidential race in the US, Zakharova lamented that by accusing Moscow of mounting cyber-attacks with an alleged aim of meddling in American politics, Washington has turned Russia into a “real, serious factor of pre-election rhetoric.”

“They are constantly saying that Russia is carrying out cyber-attacks on certain US facilities,” she said. Zakharova stressed that the US side provided no proof or any other data on the alleged hackers’ links to Moscow, which she says makes the allegations appear to be a “smokescreen” to cover up serious domestic issues.

According to the spokeswoman, this “public bickering on Russia” as well as “locker-room jokes” are “unworthy of a great power, [and] great people” of America.

“I simply believe that this campaign is not worthy of their people. As a person who was engaged in information technologies when studying at the university, I believe that this is a catastrophic campaign. May the colleagues of all kinds and countries forgive me, but I believe that this is simply some sort of a global shame,” Zakharova said at a meeting with students at the Moscow Aviation Institute, Life.ru reported.

Earlier in October, the US government claimed it was “confident” that Russia was behind the hacking attacks on US officials and organizations, alleging that revelations by WikiLeaks, DCLeaks and Guccifer 2.0. were directly authorized by the Russian government with the intention to “interfere with the US election process.”

“We believe, based on the scope and sensitivity of these efforts, that only Russia’s senior-most officials could have authorized these activities,” read the report, published by the Director of National Intelligence James Clapper. The accusations were based on the fact that attacks “in most cases originated from servers operated by a Russian company.”

Moscow, for its part, completely dismissed the allegations, denying any involvement in the attacks. Commenting on the report, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov labeled the accusations “yet another fit of nonsense,” adding that while many cyber-attacks Russia faces on a daily basis can be traced back to US services, Russia refrains from calling US government responsible for cybercrimes.

Bangladesh has 6 seasons instead of 4 !

Most people experience four seasons: winter, spring, summer, and fall/autumn. However, those four don't extend to every place on earth. Because of the equatorial location of the tropics, that zone only experiences two seasons: wet and dry. Areas near the Indian Ocean, meanwhile, generally experience three seasons: winter, summer, and monsoon. For various reasons including agriculture, commerce, and cultural tradition, Bangladesh divides these three seasons into six: summer (grisma, in Bengali), monsoon (barsa), autumn (sharat), late autumn (hemanta), winter (shit), and spring (basanta).

The Bengali year begins with summer. This occurs from the equivalent of mid-April to mid-June, when the weather is hot and dry with the occasional violent storm. Monsoon season traditionally spreads from mid-June to mid-August, and brings with it up to 85% of the year's total rainfall. A gradual decrease in temperature and humidity characterizes autumn, from mid-August to mid-October, then things get even cooler from mid-October to mid-December during late autumn. Mid-December to mid-February brings winter, the coolest and perhaps most pleasant season in Bangladesh, with average temperatures of 11–20ºC (52–68ºF). Finally, spring takes place from mid-February to mid-April, when warm breezes pick up and periodic thunderstorms punctuate the afternoons.

British tabloids' hysteria over Putin & Russia

Between imaginary threats and hysteria: How Russia dominates Western headlines

Russia’s actions, both imaginary and real, recently became front page news, as the western MSM reported on Vladimir Putin’s plans to nuke Europe or about Russian warships in the English Channel. One UK magazine even dedicated an entire issue to Putin.

However, the Spectator, a British conservative weekly with a total circulation of about 71,700 copies, did not just engage in a Russia-bashing exercise so characteristic of the UK tabloids lately, when it came out with a cover featuring the Russian president.

The cover of the magazine, one of the oldest continuously published magazines in English, plays on an iconic Soviet WWII poster, but instead of Mother Russia calling on its sons to go to arms against the Nazi invaders it features the Russian president apparently leading an army of broadcasting dishes headed by RT at a media offensive. “Putin vs the world: He's winning, in propaganda and on the ground,” the cover proclaims.

The issue itself contains two long articles that that partly contradict each other. A piece by Paul Wood elaborates on a usual western Russophobic fear – the possibility of Russia invading the Baltic States and plunging the continent into a war. It thoroughly describes fears of the Baltic States as well as those of Sweden, Norway and Poland concerning potential “Russian threat.”

The article refers to a number of sources ranging from Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite’s statements, in which she called Russian Iskander missiles deployment in Kaliningrad region an “open demonstration of power and aggression against not [just] the Baltic states but against European capitals.”

Though in fact, the Russian missiles were deployed to the Kaliningrad region as part of an exercise that came as a response to the NATO drills across the border.

Then it goes on to describe what it calls “a future history novel” called 2017: War with Russia by a retired British general, Richard Shirreff and mentions a study by the Rand Corporation, which says that “a Russian invasion of Estonia and-Latvia would be complete in as little as 36 hours.”

The article is also constantly interspersed with horror stories about the “old KGB headquarters in the Lithuanian capital, Vilnius” and claims that “one-third of [Lithuania’s] population killed or deported to Siberia during the-Soviet occupation.”

It is West that ‘worries,’ not Russia

However, the second article, a piece by Rod Liddle, demonstrates a rare example of common sense as its author asks what would happen if western politicians go too far and actually imagine a perceived Russian threat.

“Today, when some deranged Tory MP clambers to his feet and demands we start shooting down Russian jets, it is evident to everyone that he is not joking, merely idiotic and dangerous. But it is a gung-ho idiocy which is catching. Every day sees a ratcheting up of the rhetoric against Russia,” Liddle says, adding that “it is our side that worries me, not theirs,” referring to the UK and Russia.

The article goes on to reveal western hypocrisy as it draws attention to the fact that the West is fiercely criticizing Russia for its actions in Syria but now plans to do pretty much the same thing in the Iraqi city of Mosul.

“What we have done in the name of dippy, well-meaning, liberal evangelism has cost far more lives than can be laid at the door of the Russkies and Vladimir Putin,” Liddle wrote, referring to the actions of the US and its allies in the Middle East, ranging from 2003 invasion to Iraq to bombings of Libya in 2011.

 

Western hypocrisy also spreads to the media sphere, the author of the article says, as he mentions a recent scandal with NatWest bank that chose to stop rendering services to RT UK due to apparent British government involvement to silence a dissenting media outlet.

“There is indeed direct government involvement. We try to harass and hopefully close down a broadcaster because it is putting out stuff with which our government disagrees,” he said, stressing that “the problem, then, is not that they are spreading misinformation, but that Russia Today is spreading truthful information which the UK government finds extremely unhelpful.”

Mass hysteria

The balanced approach The Spectator demonstrated in its coverage of Russia is something new to the western MSM, which usually prefers to just hysterically scream about Putin and how he and Russia threaten the entire world.

Putin has virtually replaced Mike Pence as Donald Trump’s running mate in the US presidential election, if you believe Hillary Clinton’s campaign. On Monday, the Clinton camp released a video explaining that.

A recent tour of duty performed by a Russian naval group also provoked an excessively nervous reaction in the West as several European countries prepared to intercept the group “if necessary” while the British daily The Sun came with a headline “THE RUSSIANS ARE COMING: Vladimir Putin’s nuclear warships pictured steaming towards the English Channel as Royal Navy prepares to scramble fleet.”

Meanwhile, Reuters assumed that Russia “deployed all of the Northern fleet and much of the Baltic fleet in the largest surface deployment since the end of the Cold War,” even though the group included only a part of the Russian Northern Fleet.

Even stranger, the Daily Star reported that Putin is apparently preparing to nuke Europe based on rumors claiming that Russian officials and their families living abroad have been “urgently recalled” home in anticipation of “World War III.”

The BBC went even further and aired a TV show demonstrating a vision of the future compiled by “western strategists” in which Russia invades Latvia and then launches a nuclear strike on the UK.

The ongoing hysteria about Putin stirs up readers’ interest in Russia and makes it “a good selling subject” for the western media, Freddy Gray, The Spectator deputy editor, told RT, adding that the West’s overreaction to any Russia’s action is based on “some deep psychic need for an enemy, which Putin is filling very neatly for us at the moment.”

Meanwhile, the chairman of Britain's oldest conservative think-tank, the Bow Group, Ben Harris-Quinney, warned that the biased coverage of Russia in the Western media can have dangerous consequences.

“The idea of World War III does sell newspapers and magazines. And is often the topic of Hollywood films,” he said.

However, he noticed that “something has changed in the last year of two, in which I would describe as a sleepwalk towards war or, certainly, conflict with Russia, which can be a very dangerous side effect of this sort of coverage.”

“The question is how do we row back from this position? How do we engage with Russia in a way that isn’t fuelling aggression?”

‘Russia can be blamed for every evil’

Ellis Cashmore, a sociology professor at Aston University, Birmingham, told RT that while he believes “hysteria” is a term too strong, Russia has indeed become a universal scapegoat in the MSM narrative.

“It’s a growing sense that Russia can be blamed for almost every evil in the world at the moment. There has been this cultural shift practically since Ukraine,” Cashmore noted. He added that Russia-bashing has continued through the Rio Olympics and spread to coverage of the conflict in Syria. 

Cashmore says he experienced implications from a biased attitude toward Russia first-hand when he, as a media analyst and an independent commentator, said that Russia was “unfairly dealt with” in the build-up to Rio Olympics and Paralympics.

“My e-mail and Twitter accounts were full of accusations that I was in a pay of Putin, I was Putin’s mouthpiece, I was in love with Russia,” Cashmore said. “This is what independent comment gets you.” 

In practice, there is no such thing as total neutrality and independence in media, Cashmore argues.

“Neutrality is impossible, it’s a Holy Grail, simply a myth. There cannot be an independent, objective, neutral position from which any media organization operates from. Any news organization is always affected by its position, history, its geographical center, the views and opinions of its owners as well as its contributors, commentators and journalists.”

# Iv been watching international politics for years since I finished a degree in laws majoring in armed conflict and humanitarian law, and I can tell you categorically that the western media is corrupted by money making scandel. Very little actual journalism thesedays. The art is lost.  I had not even been reading or watching RT until two years ago and had by way of in person knowledge formed this resounding opinion. There is certainly some bad articles on RT but there is a serious problem with global propaganda especially from the entrenched capitalist corners.

Russia did this, Russia violated human rights in Syria, Russia should be sanctioned, Putin supports Trump, Putin is a gangster (US literally annihilated half the middle east, how dumb do you have to get to realize that). I will be reading RT from now on to see the other side of the image. It's really difficult to find objective journalism these days, here's to hoping that RT doesn't disappoint.

# while RT does offer an alternative view on world events, don't use it as a single source of information, the media is free but not objective. It's always for the better if you get your information from multiple news agencies, especially on global events.

# The articles against the U.S  by RT are usually showing the public the lies being told by the U.S. RT usually supplies check-able facts to prove the point. The U.S. do not and expect people just to accept  their propaganda as fact.

# There is no little Putin, only a great, wise and good one. You talk about expansion? I don't see any Russian troops in Europe, but we see tenths of thousands of US soldiers occupying Germany, Poland ...and telling us what to do. We are occupied by the US army.

# As a Scottish person in the UK, I have to pose the question, "Do you think that the majority of the UK believes the nonsense that we are fed by mainstream media?" These tabloid rags constantly undermine anyone who does not share their opinion. Witness the ongoing campaign against Jeremy Corbyn, the Leader of the Opposition in British Parliament.
I don't know anybody who thinks that Russia is about to attack us or think that selling arms to the Saudis is a good idea. These right wing MP's do not represent the public opinion. Personally I have always been more afraid of the actions of the US over many years. The US has invaded 129 sovereign countries since WWII. They're about to get even scarier, given the choice of presidential candidates. Unfortunately, UK is tied in with the nutty American government. Again, I don't understand why based on the fact that US only joined both previous world wars late in the day and charged us exorbitant rates for lending us money which was only paid off a few years back. Some mates.

Daesh ‘using human shields in Mosul’

WASHINGTON: Daesh terrorists were barring civilians from leaving Mosul on Tuesday and using them as human shields, as the battle for the Iraqi city entered its second day, a Pentagon official said.

“We know they are being used as human shields, absolutely,” Pentagon spokesman Navy Captain Jeff Davis told reporters.

“They are being held there against their will. We have not seen any change in the last day of people leaving or fleeing.”

Currently, the action has largely been in villages surrounding Iraq’s second-largest city and the remaining Daesh stronghold in the country.

President Barack Obama warned of “significant” displacement but said the UN and other aid groups were ready. “We have put together plans and infrastructure for dealing with a potential humanitarian crisis that are as extensive as the military plans,” Obama said.

United Nations spokesman Stephane Dujarric said an estimated 200,000 people are expected to be displaced in the first weeks of the offensive, growing to as many as one million under a worst-case scenario.

But “what you are not seeing is a mass exodus of civilians, and that’s because they are being forcibly held there,” Davis said.

The fighting so far has been fairly light, mainly focused on traditionally Kurdish villages east of Mosul that Kurdish peshmerga fighters are reclaiming from Daesh.

Davis said terrorists were deploying suicide-car attackers and had been attempting to thwart air raids and intelligence drones by igniting giant pits full of oil and tires to create thick smoke clouds to hide their movements and positions.

Obama said: “There will be ups and downs in this process, but my expectation is that ultimately it will be successful. This will be, I think, a key milestone in what I committed to doing when Daesh first emerged.”

But the US leader warned of a challenging road ahead. “Mosul will be a difficult fight. There will be advances and there will be setbacks,” he said.

Meanwhile, Europe faces a new influx of Daesh terrorists if Iraqi forces retake Mosul, officials and analysts warned Tuesday.

Experts urged Europe to prepare itself for more battle-hardened extremists ready to launch attacks back home. “The retaking of Mosul, may lead to the return to Europe of violent Daesh fighters,” the EU’s commissioner for security Julian King told German daily Die Welt.

King stressed that even a handful of radicals returning would pose a “serious threat that we must prepare ourselves for.” Around 2,500 European fighters are still in the conflict zones, said King.

Daesh may become less appealing to potential recruits if its Iraqi stronghold were to crumble, but fighters left without a “home” would pose dangers for the West, said Raffaello Pantucci, director of International Security Studies at the Royal United Services Institute.

“Rudderless but without a sense of revolutionary purpose, they will present a menace to security officials around the world for years to come,” he wrote in the Daily Telegraph.

Daesh is “entering a new phase,” said Chris Phillips, managing director of counter-terrorism consultancy Ippso, adding that as the group loses its “caliphate,” “it would force them into more guerrilla or terrorist actions.”

With the retaking of Mosul, “I think we will see a growth of terrorist attacks across North Africa and the West,” he said, adding that fighters could take cover in the routes used by refugees to slip in.

France is particularly jittery about potential returnees, as it has been hit by several terror attacks.

More than 10 officers are needed to monitor each returnee around the clock — resources that overstretched European security agencies simply do not have, security sources said.

French Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault also pointed to the “very difficult work of deradicalization” to set back on the right track children who had been taken by their parents to Syria or Iraq, but who return radicalized.

In Germany, which took in around 900,000 asylum seekers last year alone, skepticism is running high over the newcomers particularly after two attacks in July committed by refugees in the name of Daesh.

Jihadi rehab: Swedish city plans free driver’s license, housing & tax perks for returning fighters

A Swedish city is considering giving jihadists returning from Syria and Iraq free housing, a driver’s license, and tax benefits to ease their reintegration, but social media users have slammed the proposal, saying it ignores the terrorists’ victims.

The support for extremists was proposed by Anna Sjöstrand, a municipal coordinator against violent extremism in the city of Lund in southern Sweden.

“There may be criticism, but [I think] that you should get the same help as others who seek help from us. We can’t say that because you made a wrong choice, you have no rights to come back and live in our society,” Sjöstrand said on Swedish Sveriges Radio.

Sjöstrand’s proposal was based on a report written by author and criminologist Christoffer Carlsson, who says that it is difficult for people to abandon extremism and reintegrate into society without support.

“It’s a straight social, economic and material question. You need to be able to reintegrate into the job market, you may need to have a driving license, debt settlement and shelter,” he said.

According to Carlsson, “the risk is great that they [Islamist extremists] are unable to leave the extremist environment” without support, so “they might make an attempt and fail because they have nothing to keep them out, and there is always something to return to, namely the organization they left.”

The proposal has been eviscerated on social media, however, with users saying that Sweden is forgetting about the terrorists’ victims.

“Lund wants to help terrorists with housing, driver’s license and job, but forgets the victims,” one user wrote on Twitter, while another added: “Rapists, child murderers, terrorists. Everyone should be treated equally.”

Some users were calling for Sjöstrand’s resignation.

“Anna Sjöstrand, of course you should say ‘You have made a choice and are never welcome back,’” added @I_was_Sweden.

According to Sveriges Radio, a similar ‘welcoming’ approach is also being considered in the Swedish cities of Malmö, Borlänge, and Örebro.

Örebro was severely criticized in January after two IS terrorists – Liban Qadar, 23, and Mahamed Farah Osman, 24 – were offered internships in the municipality, but chose to return to Syria, where they were later killed in battle.

The incident has been classified as a clear failure for Thomas Gustafsson, Orebro’s head of partnership.

Research from the International Centre for Counter-Terrorism (ICCT) shows that at least 300 Swedish citizens had traveled to Iraq and Syria to join IS extremists as of April of this year.

Meanwhile, some 140 terrorists had already returned to Sweden as of October of this year, local media reported.

Also an April, a report appearing in the Swedish media claimed that Islamists have successfully infiltrated Sweden’s Green Party. Lars Nicander from the Swedish National Defense University said there is “a very similar effect today, in which people close to the Muslim Brotherhood, an Islamist party, are apparently gaining large footholds in the Green Party.”

War criminals look for war crimes !

The sycophantic allies of the U.S. empire are screaming about Russia’s war crimes in Syria while it tries to purge the jihadi militants financed and armed by these same hooligans and the Gulf monarchies. They are harping on war crimes since their proxy foot soldiers are in danger of extinction in East Aleppo. While trying to provide humanitarian aid to the beseiged population, Russia has already lost several soldiers and helicopters shot down the so-called rebel forces. Most interesting here is that while Russia is being singled out with this narrative, the history of the U.S. empire over the past several decades appears to be getting a clear pass.

The war in Iraq, an illegal war (all initiators of wars are war criminals) that caused the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis (many children obviously, as most populations consist of about fifty per cent children)?  And before that, an estimated 500 thousand children died as a result of U.S. sanctions against the Hussein regime.  When questioned about this, then U.S. Secretary of State said the deaths were worth it for U.S. interests.  War crimes?  Absolutely.

And what about Libya and the war crimes committed there, with the destruction of civilian infrastructure and attacks against the government that went well beyond the UN sanctioned no-fly zone.  More war crimes, more severe unintended consequences – although it did play into U.S. plans to  eliminate Syria.

Latest round of war crimes are committed in Yemen by Gulf monarchies with the arms and logistical support given the US, UK and various other EU countries.

Back to Afghanistan where the U.S. “war on terror” simmers on.   War crimes and crimes against humanity were committed there by U.S. forces and its “coalition” forces, including Canada.   Afghanistan as you should well know, is now a mess of factional fighting with the Taliban controlling about a third of the country.

Before all those, Serbia was bombed illegally by NATO (which the U.S. leads and in which Canada played a major role), attacking civilian structures such as bridges, industrial plants, public buildings, businesses, and as an aside, the Chinese embassy.  This was supposedly a “right to protect” operation, proved to be a preconceived excuse in order to weaken the Serb Republic and further contain a soon to be resurgent Russia.  An estimated 500 civilians were killed – sorry, no child count there.  But definitely a war crime.

Israel's war crimes against civilians both in the West Bank and Gaza – have been ongoing for decades. The notable case here at least as seen from the MSM perspective, have been the Israeli attacks against the open air prison of Gaza (population now at 2 million). Hundreds of children have been slaughtered there using many “made in the U.S.A.” weapons, including chemical warfare (modified tear gas, phosphorous bombs), serving as well as a testing/proving ground for Israeli manufactured materials in support of their militarized economy. More U.S. supported war crimes.

The U.S. has committed war crimes of an overt or covert nature in 50 countries since WW II, disposing of non-compliant governments with violence against citizens of those sovereign states.

A sad consequence of a UN meeting may bring to light the war crimes of the U.S., against children, against civilians, against sovereign governments although it is highly likely due to the U.S. control of the MSM for the western world.  But to focus a call on Russian war crimes is the height of arrogance and hubris from a nation (Canada) that has supported U.S. war crimes and committed some of its own.

Yes, indeed, let’s have a special General Assembly meeting on war crimes, but let’s do it for the whole world and not just the sycophantic interests of an increasingly belligerent member of the U.S. imperial coalition.

The world does need to express its outrage – at war crimes committed by the U.S., about U.S. support for Saudi war crimes in Yemen, about U.S. support for Saudi support of the various salafist jihadi groups around the world.

Russia endured three major invasions from Western Europe (Napoleon, Wilhelm, Hitler), more invasions after WW I from western nations, and suffered under the “shock doctrine” of U.S. neo-liberalism.  The latter came about as the result of U.S. influence on the drunkard Yeltsin and created a country in decline ruled by oligarchs who stole much of the wealth of the country (Khodorkovsky, Magnitsky among them).   Currently, the U.S. has a first strike nuclear policy with missile bases in Poland and Romania within minutes of the Russian heartland.

Not exactly a great history of western accommodation.  And now NATO has expanded towards Russia’s borders, yet accuse Russia of aggression (??)  - logic not being a strength of the MSM or the politicians of the west.  The U.S. initiated the coup in Ukraine, just ask Victoria “F**k the EU” Nuland, partner of Robert Kagan, known neo-con warmonger.

The MSM across the west, in collusion with the political elites, are doing their best to create an evil Putin leading an evil Russia trying to regain its empire.  That they have succeeded in this image is a testament to the power of the MSM, the ignorance of the people of the west (most particularly in Canada and the U.S.), and the arrogance, hubris, and wilful ignorance of the elite class.

Russia is scaring the bejesus out of the U.S. and its allies.  It has obviously revived its military power, and in many cases is considered to be well ahead of the U.S. It’s economy, in spite of the best intentions of U.S. sanctions, is doing reasonably well as its home grown industries are being forced to develop more, and its agricultural sector has benefited from counter sanctions against EU products. Western action against China have created a Sino-Russian alliance stronger than it ever was during the Sino-Soviet era.

The latter has serious implications for the U.S. desire to be the global hegemon with full spectrum dominance over – everyone and everything. And for that, it is good that Russia is back.

For Canada and Trudeau to attempt to corral the western MSM message into the UN is simply political posturing.  Whether it comes from wilful ignorance and arrogance,  simple ignorance, simple stupidity, or a pretty boy posturing as the good guy Canadian mediator is difficult to discern.  But it is definitely posturing – it is the U.S. that has created the mess in the Middle east, it is the U.S./NATO that has created the belligerence towards Russia, it is the U.S. military /industrial /political /financial complex that has created a world of fear and terror in order to attempt its global hegemony.  Finally someone is capable of standing up to that – which unfortunately, given the U.S. propensity for nuclear sword threats, may result in the U.S. having created the perfect storm to induce world war last.

The Real Humanitarian Crisis Is Not Aleppo. The Crisis is Washington Loosing its ISIS Mercenaries

Why do we hear only of the “humanitarian crisis in Aleppo” and not of the humanitarian crisis everywhere else in Syria where the evil that rules in Washington has unleashed its ISIL mercenaries to slaughter the Syrian people?  Why do we not hear about the humanitarian crisis in Yemen where the US and its Saudi Arabian vassal are slaughtering Yemeni women and children?  Why don’t we hear about the humanitarian crisis in Libya where Washington destroyed a country leaving chaos in its place?  Why don’t we hear about the humanitarian crisis in Iraq, ongoing now for 13 years, or the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan now 15 years old?

The answer is that the crisis in Aleppo is the crisis of Washington losing its ISIL mercenaries to the Syrian army and Russian air force.  The jihadists sent by Obama and the killer Hillary (“We came, we saw, he died”) to destroy Syria are being themselves destroyed.  The Obama regime and the Western presstitutes are trying to save the jihadists by covering them in the blanket of “humanitarian crisis.”

Such hypocrisy is standard fare for Washington.  If the Obama regime gave a hoot about “humanitarian crisis,” the Obama regime would not have orchestrated humanitarian crisis in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, and Yemen.

We are in the middle of a presidential campaign in the US and no one has asked why the US is determined to overthrow a democratically elected Syrian government that is supported by the Syrian people.

No one has asked why the White House Fool is empowered to remove the president of Syria by siccing US-supplied jihadists, which the presstitutes misrepresent as “moderate rebels,” on the Syrian people.

Washington, of course, has no acceptable answer to the question, and that is why the question is not asked.

The answer to the question is that Washington’s strategy for destabilizing Iran and then the Muslim provinces of the Russian Federation, former Soviet central Asia, and the Muslim province of China is to replace stable governments with the chaos of jihadism.  Iraq, Libya, and Syria had stable secular societies in which the government’s strong hand was used to prevent sectarian strife between Muslim sects. By overthrowing these secular governments and the current effort to overthrow Assad, Washington released the chaos of terrorism.

There was no terrorism in the Middle East until Washington brought it there with invasions, bombings, and torture.

Jihadists such as those that Washington used to overthrow Gaddafi appeared in Syria when the British Parliament and the Russian government blocked Obama’s planned invasion of Syria. As Washington was prevented from directly attacking Syria, Washington used mercenaries.  The prostitutes that pretend to be an American media obliged Washington with the propaganda that the jihadist terrorists are Syrian democrats rebelling against “the Assad dictatorship.”  This transparant and blatant lie has been repeated so many times that it now is confused with truth.

Syria has no connection whatsoever to Washington’s original justification for introducing violence into the Middle East.  The original justification was 9/11 which was used to invade Afghanistan on the fabrication that the Taliban was shielding Osama bin Laden, the “mastermind,” who at the time was dying of renal failure in a Pakistani hospital.  Osama bin Laden was a CIA asset who was used against the Soviets in Afghanistan.  He was not the perpetrator of 9/11.  And most certainly, neither were the Taliban.

But the Western presstitutes covered up for the Bush regime’s lie, and the public was deceived with the phrase that we must “defeat them abroad before they attack us at home.”

Of course, Muslims were not going to attack us at home. If Muslims are a threat, why does the US government keep bringing so many of them here as refugees from Washington’s wars against Muslims?

9/11 was the neoconservatives “new Pearl Harbor” that they wrote they needed in order to launch their wars in the Middle East. George W. Bush’s first Secretary of the Treasury said that the topic of Bush’s first cabinet meeting was the invasion of Iraq.  This was prior to 9/11.  In other words, Washington’s wars in the Middle East were planned prior to 9/11.

The neo-conservatives are zionists. By reducing the Middle East to chaos they achieve both of their goals.  They remove organized opposition to Israeli expansion, and they create jihadism that can be used to destabilize countries such as Russia, Iran, and China that are in the way of their exercise of unilateral power, which, they believe, the Soviet collapse bequeathed to the “indispensable nation,” the USA.

Osama bin Laden, the alleged 9/11 mastermind, was dying, not directing a terror war against the US from a cave in Afghanistan. The Taliban were focused on establishing their rule in Afghanistan, not on attacking the West. After blowing up weddings, funerals, and childrens’ soccer games, Washington moved on to Iraq.  There was no sign of Iraqi beligerance toward the US. UN weapons inspectors said that there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, but Washington did not hear.  The whores who comprise the American media helped the Bush regime create the image of a nuclear mushroom cloud going up over America if the US did not invade Iraq.

Iraq had no nuclear weapons and everyone knew it, but facts were irrelevant.  There was an agenda at work, an undeclared agenda.  To advance its agenda that the government did not dare reveal, the government used fear.  “We have to kill them over there before they kill us over here.”

So Iraq, a stable, progressive country was reduced to ruins.

Libya was next. Gaddafi would not join Washington’s Africa Command.  Moreover, China was developing the oil fields in eastern Libya.  Washington was already troubled by Russia’s presence in the Mediterranean and did not want China there also.  So Gaddafi had to go.

Next Assad was set up with faked evidence that he had used chemical weapons against the rebellion that Washington had started.  No one believed the transparant Washington lie, not even the British Parliament.  Unable to find support to cover an invasion, Killary the Psychopath sent the jihadists Washington used to destroy Libya to overthrow Assad.

The Russians, who until this point had been so naive and gullible as to trust Washington, finally figured out that the instability that Washington was brewing was directed at them.  The Russian government decided that Syria was their red line and, at the request of the Syrian government, intervened against the Washington-supported jihadists.

Washington is outraged and is now threatening to commit yet another criminal violation of the Nuremberg Standard with blatant aggression against Syria. Such an ill-advised step would bring Washington into military conflict with Russia and by implication with China.  Before Europeans enable Washington to initiate such a dangerous conflict, they had best consider the warning from Sergey Karaganov, a member of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s Foreign Policy and Defense council:  “Russia will never again fight on its own territory. If NATO initiates an encroachment against a nuclear power like ourselves, NATO will be punished.”

That the government of the United States is criminally insane should frighten every person on earth.  Killary-Hillary is commited to conflict with Russia.  Regardless,  Obama, the presstitutes, and the Democratic and Republican establishments are doing everything in their power to put into the Oval Office the person who will maximize conflict with Russia.

The life of the planet is in the hands of the criminally insane. This is the real humanitarian crisis.
